Hi everyone!
Sorry I've never actually blogged, but I've been busy...
So, to catch everyone up, Italy is great! I've really been enjoying myself. But here, I'll just start with Fall Break.

We planned Fall Break back in July and August. We had hostel reservations and train and plane tickets all ready. So we got on the train to go to Pisa to get on our plane to Paris (exciting, right?), but when we got to the airport, I looked up and saw a sign declaring that our flight had been cancelled... EPIC FAIL. So, we cancelled the hostel reservations and went back to Arezzo. Luckily, Arezzo was having an international market that weekend, so we went downtown, tried some ostrich burger stuff, etc. My main consolation for having missed out on Paris is that I would not have gotten to visit the Loree shop anyway (it's not open on the weekend).

Monday, we got an early morning train to Zürich. And by a train to Zürich, I mean that we took a train to Florence, and then a train to Milan, and THEN we got on a train to Zürich. The train ride between Milan and Zürich was absolutely beautiful; I didn't take any pictures though, because taking pictures through a train window is less fun. Google image "Swiss Alps" and you should be able to get an idea :)

Zürich was nice, but it would have been better as an interlude between Paris and Berlin, rather than a beginning. We went to the Zoo (great fun, I haven't been to a zoo in years!) We also went to a toy museum (it was really small, but there were lots of cool dollhouses, including one that rivalled Tut's...) We also visited the Swiss National Museum (with exhibits from winter sports to politcal satire to prehistory to the Swiss banking system). We also went and checked out the main churches: Fraumünster, Grossmünster, and St. Peterskirche. They were beautiful, St. Peter was all white and clean lines, and Frau- and Grossmünster had really cool modern stained glass. Every day we ate at the hot bar in the Coop down the street, they had really great food, and it  was probably the cheapest, too... Zürich is an expensive city...

So then we got on a night train to Berlin, and I will save Berlin for another post, but fair warning

So, this is my first post in my blog, but I really don't have anything to say yet, except "I'm really excited! but really, really nervous!"
